Apple announced the iPhone 5, preorder starts on September 14
The most expected device this year is here. Apple revealed the iPhone 5 yesterday, the same way it has announced new products since the first Mac – among media frenzy, secrecy, upgrades and other products.
The iPhone 4S release was kind of a disappointment, maybe except for Siri, but Apple is promising a more efficient device with the iPhone 5.
Here are the 5 major upgrades from the iPhone 4S:
The iPhone 5 will be much faster, compatible with the 4G LTE networks in the US, Europe and Asia. It will include the A6 chip, which will make it 2 times faster than the 4S, and by faster we mean loading audio files and web pages.
The iPhone 5 has a longer battery life - 8 hours of browsing and 3G talk time.
The device is coming with iOS 6, an Apple Maps application, Face time over 3G, Siri updates, Passbook and shared image streams.
Made out of aluminum and glass, the iPhone 5 weights 112 gr and it is 20% lighter and 18% thinner than its predecessor.
It has also a 4' retina display with a resolution of 1,136 x 640, the extra length allows the device to display an extra row of application icons on the screen and will be easier to navigate with one hand.
The iPhone 5 will come at a price of $199 for the 16GB version and $299 for the 32GB.
Preorders starts on 14th of September and retailers will have it on September 21st.
