Tesco trialing virtual store in Gatwick airport

The UK's largest supermarket chain, Tesco, is trialing virtual cupboards and fridges in Gatwick airport to enable travelers to purchase their groceries via mobile devices and having their order delivered the day of their return.

There are some changes from last years QR Code store trial in South Korea. Now Tesco is using EAN-8 and EAN-13 barcodes instead of QR Codes and are scannable only with Tesco's application for Android and iPhone devices.

The second is that instead of inactive ads that were used in South Korea the products are displayed on interactive screens that reveal a few pages of groceries.
