IE is coming to Xbox this fall
IE (Internet Explorer) is coming to Microsoft’s Xbox 360 completed with SmartGlass integration and Kinect voice control.
Microsoft made the announcement on Monday at the Xbox media briefing.
As Marc Whitten said at the conference, the browsers on the television are slow and people are not using them, the remotes and controllers are painfully slow too and keyboards do not belong in the living room, according to Whitten.
To find a solution for that, IE will make use of Kinect and will allow users to speak and command their Xbox and so to control the browser.
Microsoft will also incorporate the new SmartGlass technology, that will allow users to control the browser via tablet or smartphone. The technology is very similar to those on the iOS devices.
The IE browser for Xbox 360 will be available this fall.
